I have experience of interviewing both face-to-face and on the telephone, speaking to such people as athlete and TV personality Colin Jackson CBE, Irish band The Answer , "ghost hunters", civil servants and students. I have a friendly and personable manner and pride myself in both excellent time keeping and making people feel at ease and comfortable talking to me. I believe in treating the interviewee with respect and professionalism at all times.

I am highly skilled in undertaking library and Internet research for a variety of projects from essay and dissertation writing at university to sourcing information for features and interviews in my freelance work. I am skilled in both primary and secondary research, both in libraries and online, using  academic and specialist journals and disseminating information professionally and to a high standard to produce coherent and sound arguments and work.

Technology Goddess

I am fully competent in using the Internet and email, along with all associated packages such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint. I have an intermediate ability in using Adobe Photoshop, as well as basic knowledge of QuarkXPress. However, I am eager to become fully trained in both packages  by undertaking  evening classes. I am also experienced in the use of Social Media, being an active participant on sites such as Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Foursquare and Tumblr. As a result of this, I  am adept at assessing its use in today's digital and technological age.

 Self -Motivation/management

 Undertaking work on a voluntary requires a great deal of self motivation and I have developed a highly professional reputation for producing quality work in both paid and unpaid positions. Working on many projects at one time, I am skilled at managing my work load to ensure I deliver copy to deadline.

 Skilled Writer

Having been a published author since the age of 11 with a poem written for a primary school competition, right through to the present day, I have developed and expanded my writing skills by constantly writing and getting feedback for work. I am an avid creative writer with a number of poetry and short stories written. During my first degree I took many writing modules including Writing for Television, Writing for Radio and Autobiography. I received high marks and praise for my work and will continue my creative efforts alongside my journalism.
